Responsible for managing wokshops, public relations and events along with related budgets in support of the Director and attendee growth for each related show. Works with the staff to create social media programs and events; ensures each events and activities are within budget.  Communicates and disseminates information related to social media and show events to service and support staff.



Executes events, ensures successful execution of events, including VIP programs, to increase attendee and/or exhibitor acquisition and brand awareness. Coordinates hotels, book venues and negotiate contracts (where appropriate) including entertainment, additional staff, caterers and anything related to event. Writes, schedules and executes pre- and post-show social media updates for assigned shows via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Tumbler, Pinterest, etc. Prepares media support material for all assigned shows; serves as an ambassador to the show site and coordinates media access, interviews, etc. Maintains print and digital media lists and prepares press bags as appropriate. Partners with operations and show staff to coordinate all pre-show and on-site activities including the floor design, layout and signage, making appropriate decisions to ensure budgetary adherence and quality levels that meet established standards. Seeks and maintains new partnerships to develop new programs and events, focusing on enhancing the event experience for exhibitors and attendees within each brand. Develops, manages and reconciles event budgets, ensuring that event activities are within budget guidelines. Partners and cross-collaborates with peers in other lines of business to achieve consistent brand messaging with appropriate design collateral, invitations, and themes. Supervises internal and external staff working the events at each show. Interviews, hires, manages and evaluates interns. Performs other projects as assigned.

Skills and experience required

Four year business degree or equivalent social media/event experience is required, with at least three years trade show events experience. Individual must have a high degree of managerial, negotiating, financial and time management skills; must be good with numbers and must be detail oriented.  Must be able to translate ideas into projects using hands-on capabilities. In addition, must have a high degree of interpersonal skills, including customer relationship management and negotiating skills, and have practical working knowledge of MS Office suite software. 



Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage stress well while on Events site.  Strong customer-service orientation.  Must be very organized and detail-oriented.  Extensive marketing, large conference, large event or meeting planning experience desirable.
