Hello!

Here is my story:

we are making a website (Joomla! 1.7, Ja Social template by Joomlart). Now, my client wants registration on the site to be this particular way: name field needs to be removed (same data might go to the db for each user). Instead of username there needs to be account number and random 9-digit number should go there by defaul, but user should be able to change it to any 9-digit number except for defined and the ones already in use. And other two regular fields (email and password) should be there as usual. Is it possible to make email field optional. User should be logged in and redirected to his profile right after registration is complete also.

Please let know if you can help me with this.

Hi, Sebastian! Thank you very much for your reply! You are right, we are planning to use JomSocial and I`ve just relized that using Joomla! core registration, it still has one of it`s own, which needs to be modified also. I made a mistake in my description of what I need. I was going to write: random 9-digit number should APPEAR there by defaul. So, yes user should be able to change it while registering too. Ajax`d be cool. Let`s keep emails required for now. Password reminder and notifications (about changed account number for example) should work as usual. One more thing, just to remind: my client wants account numbers to look like this: 123-456-789 (with dashes). As far as I understand that complicates it a little. Anyway, I think, I`ve answered all of your questions.
