Beschreibung

Looking for a Java Applet to form part of internet web page. Graphical User Interface to connect to Paradox 7 table structures as a backend program. UI must be able to allow for simple User based security which grants access to information based on a particular field in one of the tables. Objective of the UI is to pull information from paradox tables to the Java Applet and display it in a particular fashion on the web page.

Program already accessing the paradox (BDE managed) database written in C++ Builder. Backend program must use sessions to connect.

There will be 3 tables in total being used by the Applet. Security credentials can be as simple as comparison of Username and Password fields and a third field to store the "Client" data which they can access.. char(10) / String The other 2 tables (information source) both Paradox 7 table structure (32768 block size) "WBS" - 88 Fields,1 key, 1 secondary index (unique, maintained) "WBST" - 7 fieds, 2 keys, 1 secondary index (maintained) Master datasource to WBST is WBS on primary index field "Waybill" (char(30) / string) The applet would need to display on the web interface around 25 fields from WBS and all WBST fields. The WBST table will contain a client field the same as that in the "security" table. If the Username and password match, then the client can do searches on all records containing that particular client code. Therefore, the interface also needs to be able to perform quick search on primary index field.. Hope this helps..

Hello, thanks for the specifications. Other questions: 1) The physical residence of BDE is on the same web server (so it's a IIS running on top a Windows server or it's an external server running elsewhere? 2) I presume the Java Applet access to Paradox is read-only... right? Just check security and doing queries... If it's necessary to log other info (write access), please let me know. 3) JDBC doesn´t support natively Paradox tables, but can be accessed via a third party driver (costs about 180 u$s, but probably we can use a free version) I think I can accomplish this job within your proposed budget, assuming it's just querying paradox and showing results. Please send me the visual schematic (if you have one) or my I prepare one to refine the GUI requirements.
